Checking personal data exposure

Security questions provide a recovery option for online accounts. Their answers must be protected. Before posting information online, check to make sure it cannot be used to guess answers to security questions.

Why is it important?

Besides a possible invasion of privacy, personal data can utilised by attackers.

With enough information, recovery options that require personal information can be answered. Accounts can be accessed, leading to further harm.

By checking for exposure of personal data proactive steps can be taken to reduce the amount of information present.
